Jennifer Shon is the owner of Chucka Stone Designs, a multi-faceted company which focuses on providing quality work and detail oriented service.  As an independent artist, Jennifer is able to provide clients with a variety of eclectic skills such as -- specialty paint treatments, article or blog writing, and eco-fashion sense through a line of one of a kind upcycled fabric items such as Mp3 Player Cozies and tote bags.

Chucka Stone Designs installs custom finishes that are as unique as each client; as a Decorative Wall Artist Jennifer brings style into any home or office.  She enjoys sitting with a client to determine exactly what they are looking for in their space and installs a quality finish based on their desires.  Jennifer specializes in finishes that require solid layout and strong attention to detail such as brick, stone, strie, stripes or plaster effects.

Jennifer has been writing for over twenty years, was first published at age fifteen in a teen magazine and has since seen her professional pieces published online and in newspapers.  She specializes in blogging, interview, editorial, prose and fiction.  Her daily blog, Green Leaf Reviewer (GLR), focuses on the environment and what each of us can do to ensure it is long lasting.

A line of one of a kind hand bags, tote bags and fun accessories such as Mp3 cozies, all made from at least 50% upcycled or salvaged fabric, can be found in Chucka Stone Designs online storefront at Etsy.  Jennifer meticulously constructs each piece; all patterns are her original concepts and many items are one of a kind due to the nature of the acquisition of materials.

As a business owner Jennifer is constantly striving to produce quality items that are functional as well as beautiful and as a self proclaimed member of the eco-police she does so with both eyes on what environmental impact these decisions might have:

  • All materials used in her wall treatments are low to no VOC, water based and reused many times over (such as roller covers).
  • Old jeans, shower curtains and just about anything slated for a landfill might someday end up becoming part of a tote bag or clutch purse.
  • GLR posts frequently feature Team Eco Etsy designers, products or simple inspiration, encouraging its growing readership to respect the Earth by making smarter choices.

There are several groups Jennifer belongs to that are focused on a better Earth.  Team Eco Etsy has given Jennifer an opportunity to connect with so many like minded, uniquely talented individuals in the virtual world.  Support comes in the form of feature articles and reviews and she enjoys taking part in the discussion forums.  Bennetts Brook Green Group, founded by Melissa Macdonald (frequent GLR contributor), is a monthly meeting where concerned individuals come together in person to determine what can be done on the local level and offer advice, tips and support in one another’s efforts.
